Meet Moon Man

You’ve met our Animation Studio, Digital Gravy. now meet the first of our animated characters, Moon Man!

He’s our main man, our mascot, our park greeter and so much more!

Here’s a little behind the scenes into how he came to be…

We started with an inspiration board.

Digital Gravy got to work and very quickly we were presented with a whole lot of options.

You can see from the original, his face hasn’t changed much. We all liked the surfer vibes and 5 o’clock shadow from the initial sketch out. And his body shape ended up pretty on point with the slightly turned blushing version.

He came together pretty quickly. This is basically his final form in black and white.

Bring on the color. More options, and a lot of mix and match and hacky photoshop skills let our team swap heads and bodies and try out some additional color combos that weren’t in the initial set. We all honed in on different things that we liked, but the more tan skin tone definitely stood out as a winner and the blue suit got a few minor color mods.

You can see we’re definitely honing in on the final version now. We wanted to see a few variations on the blue suit and a couple different hair options, but with a quick mix and match you can see where Moon Man came together from this last set.

Now the fun part, lets get this guy moving! Here were a couple “action pose” options. And we got our final static stances back before the final gif you see at the top.

One last thing is missing, that background. We have another artist we haven’t introduced you to yet, although you’ve probably seen him lurking around our server from time to time as !biggunn01. We couldn’t bring an NFT project to life without finding ways to incorporate our good friend Wesley Gunn.

He was already committed to other work and couldn’t take on the whole load of our project‘s art, but we’ve pulled him in where we can. You will see some more of his work in the backgrounds of our main collection and now in the backgrounds of our characters!
